48 homes on the Kruiskade in Rotterdam, a street with traffic noise well above the residential limit.
Rather than seal the façade, we stepped the building back and gave every home a deep loggia. The loggia does the acoustic work, and it does it while the window is open — which is the condition people actually live in.
Completed 2020. Measured internal levels sit 8 dB below the consented limit with windows open, and the loggias are occupied year-round.
